Description
Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2 was one of the early versions of the G series of the famous German fighter. It was powered by a DB 605A engine and armed with two 7.92mm MG 17 machine guns above the engine and a 20mm MG 151/20 cannon firing through the propeller hub. Some aircraft were also equipped with two underwing 20mm MG 151/20 cannon in conformal gondolas. The G-2 saw service on all fronts where the Luftwaffe operated from the fall of 1942. The aircraft in this kit represents a Bf 109G-2 of 6./JG 52 operating on the Eastern Front in early 1943.
