The Bf 109G-10 was a late version of the Bf 109G, developed in response to Allied bombing in 1944. It featured improvements to combat the P-51 Mustang, using the DB 605AS engine as an interim solution before the Bf 109K could be introduced.

Description
The later Bf 109G variants—such as the G-6/AS, G-14/AS, and G-10—were developed to quickly supply the Luftwaffe with higher-performance fighters during the Allied bombing offensive of spring 1944. The arrival of long-range P-51 Mustangs exposed the growing obsolescence of German fighters. As the new Bf 109K with the DB 605D engine faced development delays, Messerschmitt’s Regensburg team created an interim solution by fitting the DB 605AS engine into existing G-6 and G-14 airframes. This upgrade used components already planned for the K series, allowing rapid production of improved fighters.
