Description
The Bf 109 G-10 Erla was an advanced late-war variant of the famous German fighter, introduced in 1944. It featured a more streamlined, longer nose housing the powerful Daimler-Benz DB 605D engine, delivering increased power and improved high-altitude performance. The G-10 retained the robust armament of a 20 mm MG 151/20 cannon firing through the propeller hub and two 13 mm MG 131 machine guns above the engine cowling. This model incorporated structural improvements and updated avionics for better handling and pilot survivability. Used extensively on both Eastern and Western fronts, the G-10 Erla balanced speed, firepower, and maneuverability, making it one of the Luftwaffe’s most effective fighters late in WWII.
