Description
The Bf 109E-1 was an early variant of Germany’s main WWII fighter and played a key role in the early war, including the Battle of France and Battle of Britain. Introduced in 1939, it was powered by a Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine and had a top speed of around 570 km/h. The E-1 was armed with four 7.92mm machine guns—two in the nose and two in the wings. It featured a sleek, modern design and excellent performance for its time. The Bf 109E-1 helped establish Luftwaffe air superiority in the early years of the war.
