Description
The A-6E saw extensive action during the Vietnam War and in all subsequent American combat operations. The A-6E was introduced in 1970 and first deployed to Vietnam in 1972 with VA-35 assigned to the USS America.
The A-6E was the final attack variant, featuring a new multimode radar, a new nav/attack system, TRAM (Track And Radar Mapping) pod and updated DIANE system. The A-6E saw action in Libya, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, Desert Storm and more before its retirement.
