Description
Just to show you all that I'm not totally deadly serious about all this war stuff, I do, every so often, play video games. Granted, they are usually World War II-type games, but that is beside the point. As a change of pace, I've decided to review a video game (or strategic simulation for the highbrows) that I recently got for my birthday. The game is PANZER GENERAL II by Strategic Simulations, Inc. ($44.95 SRP, Windows only). I got the game because I am such a big fan of PANZER GENERAL I. Naturally, I was very excited when I got the sequel.
Now, to begin with, I am not a Windows fan, so right away I was distraught that there was not a Mac version available. However, I took it like a man and played the Windows version. Now, what has this got to do with LUFTWAFFE 1946? Well, in some ways these games allow you to fight World War II differently and see how things might have gone had you been there commanding the troops. In a way, it is sort of an alternate WWII story in and of itself. I like playing these types of games just to see if the outcome might be different. Of course, in real life, you can't reset.
