Jet Planes of the Third Reich” by J. Richard Smith and Eddie J. Creek (Monogram Aviation Publications, 1982) is a standard reference work on German jet and rocket aircraft of the Second World War.
This extensively researched 400-page volume documents the development, testing and operational use of Germany’s early jet and rocket-powered aircraft, including both production types and experimental or projected designs.
Well-known aircraft such as the Messerschmitt Me 262, Arado Ar 234 and Heinkel He 162 are covered in depth, alongside numerous lesser-known prototypes and advanced concepts. The book is richly illustrated with photographs, technical drawings, plans and detailed specifications, making it a valued resource for aviation historians, researchers and scale modellers.
Since its publication, the book has been regarded as an authoritative and comprehensive study of this pioneering and influential chapter in aviation history.
