Description

JUBILEE

IT is indicative of the times in which we live, and the great changes that are taking place in the field of aviation, that the Silver Jubilee of the Hawker Siddeley Group, which occurred last month, has passed without any form of celebration. Everyone is too busy laying the foundations of the future.

Twenty-five years may not be any great milestone within an organization some of whose aviation companies can boast a history dating back to the earliest days of the aeroplane. For the story of Hawker Siddeley aircraft companies is virtually that of British aviation itself.

In more senses than one, however, the event is significant and should be recorded. The Silver Jubilee represents years of happy and successful partnership of companies proud of their own records and independence.
