Roy Underdown was an RAF pilot and instructor before teaching pilots and navigators from ab initio to advanced conversion course levels at the College of Air Training, Hamble. He was Director of Ground Training for British Airways at the college from 1976 to 1982 and Principal until 1984. He has revised volumes 1, 2 and 3 of the Ground Studies for Pilots.
