Description
This wind-up tin Zeppelin is a reproduction of an antique toy made in the 1920's.
Before Charles Lindbergh's historic flight ushered in our era of routine transatlantic flight, Zeppelins were the glamorous alternative to ocean liners. In 1929 the Graf Zeppelin, with 20 passengers aboard, cruised around the world in 21 days.
Zeppelins were the largest flying objects ever made. They reached lengths of over 800 feet - the equivalent of an 80-story building.
Model van het luchtschip Graf Zeppelin (LZ 127), vervaardigd uit gepolijst aluminium met een landingsgestel op wielen en een werkende propeller. De naam GRAF ZEPPELIN is in reliëf op de romp aangebracht. Wind-up model uit de « Collector Series » van Schylling, geleverd met originele doos (24 × 8 × 9 cm, Made in Korea).
