This latest addition to the long-established Luftwaffe Colours series examines the training that all Luftwaffe aircrew and specialists had to pass through before participating in active service. Various stages of pilot and flight training are examined, alongside a varied and fascinating selection of photographs and artwork profiles. All levels of the Luftwaffe training system before and during the war are covered including elementary and advanced training schools, fighter, bomber, dive-bomber and ground-attack, night fighter and heavy fighters, weapons, signals and formation, and instructors' schools. Many aircraft are also included from dedicated training machines such as the Ar 68 and 131 biplanes to the Ar 96 and Fw 56 advanced trainers. Virtually all main front line types are examined including the famous Bf 109 and Do 17, as well as the twin-seat Fw 190, Me 262, and even Me163s. Continuing the narrative excellence and impressive artwork that enthusiasts have come to expect from this series, this new volume is the perfect addition to the collection, and will be essential reading for aviation historians. Modellers will also find the artworks and side profiles invaluable in recreating the many aircraft of the Luftwaffe.

À PROPOS DE CET EDITEUR
Ian Allan Publishing
Ian Allan Publishing was founded by Ian Allan ( 1922 - 2015 ) in 1942. Working then in the Public Relations Department for the Southern Railway at Waterloo Station ( London Borough of Lambeth, London, England ), he decided he could deal with many of the requests he received about rolling stock by collecting the information into a book. The result was his first book : ABC of Southern Locomotives. This proved to be a success, contributing to the emergence of trainspotting as a popular hobby in the United Kingdom, and leading to the formation of the company. Ian Allan Publishing has grown from a small producer of books for train enthusiasts and spotters to a large transport publisher. Each year it publishes books covering subjects such as military and civil aviation, naval and maritime topics, buses, trams, trolleybuses and steam railways, including history, preservation and modern operations. The headquarters is at the western end of Shepperton Railway Station ( Surrey, England ). At the end of 2016, the company announced that they were withdrawing from railway publishing. Crécy Publishing acquired these titles, including the Oxford and abc imprints, but would no longer publish these under the Ian Allan name. ( source : Wikipedia )
