Douglas SBD-1 Dauntless, BuNo 1741, of MB-2, coded 2-MB-13, summer 1940. The aircraft sports pre-war painting scheme.
It consisted of fuselage and lower surfaces coated with colorless varnish and canvas covered control surfaces painted silver, with upper wings painted yellow (Chrome Yellow).
Note anti-glare stripe ahead of the cockpit. Green (Willow Green) elements identify the machine flown by the CO of 5th flight. Of further interest is the U.S. Marine Corps badge.
