The Herpa 509282 Vietnam Airlines Fokker 70 (registration VN-A502) was released in the Herpa Wings range in September/October 2000. It represents one of the Fokker 70 aircraft operated by Vietnam Airlines during the expansion of its regional network.

The Fokker 70 is a twin-engine regional jetliner developed by the Dutch manufacturer Fokker in the early 1990s. As a shortened derivative of the Fokker 100, the F70 was designed to carry 70-80 passengers on short to medium-haul routes. The aircraft measures 30.91 m (101 ft 5 in) in length with a wingspan of 28.08 m (92 ft 1 in) and a height of 8.51 m (27 ft 11 in).
