Description
A collectible Herpa miniature depicting one of the regional jets that helped Vietnam Airlines expand its domestic and Southeast Asian network during the 1990s.
The Herpa 509282 Vietnam Airlines Fokker 70 (registration VN-A502) was released in the Herpa Wings range in September/October 2000. It represents one of the Fokker 70 aircraft operated by Vietnam Airlines during the expansion of its regional network.
This exquisite 1:500 scale die-cast model by Herpa Wings faithfully reproduces a Vietnam Airlines Fokker 70 in its classic livery. The model features the airline's distinctive blue cheatline along the fuselage with 'VIETNAM AIRLINES' lettering, capturing the elegant simplicity of the carrier's 1990s branding. Crafted with precision molded plastic and metal components, this miniature includes accurately detailed engines, landing gear, and wing configuration. The registration markings are crisply applied, making this a standout piece for collectors of Asian airline models or Fokker aircraft.
The Fokker 70 is a twin-engine regional jetliner developed by the Dutch manufacturer Fokker in the early 1990s. As a shortened derivative of the Fokker 100, the F70 was designed to carry 70-80 passengers on short to medium-haul routes. The aircraft measures 30.91 m (101 ft 5 in) in length with a wingspan of 28.08 m (92 ft 1 in) and a height of 8.51 m (27 ft 11 in). At 1:500 scale, this model measures approximately 6.2 cm in length with a wingspan of about 5.6 cm. Vietnam Airlines operated the Fokker 70 on regional routes during the 1990s and early 2000s, connecting secondary cities across Vietnam and Southeast Asia before transitioning to larger Airbus and Boeing equipment.
