An outstanding Herpa Wings 1:500 die-cast reproduction of Pan American World Airways Boeing 747SP-21 N530PA, the famous “Clipper Mayflower”. More than a classic Pan Am collectible, this model represents a particularly significant aircraft in Boeing history: the very first 747SP built.
The model faithfully reproduces Pan Am's iconic white and silver livery with blue cheatline, large PAN AM titles, globe tail logo and U.S. flag. The distinctive shortened fuselage and characteristic proportions of the 747SP are accurately represented, together with detailed landing gear and four engines.
Herpa released this reference 512244 in its Yesterday Series / New Generation range. Collector databases date the original release to 2001. It is a discontinued model, but I would not describe it as a limited edition: available model records specifically identify its production as Unlimited.
