Description

This Schuco StarJets die-cast model represents a Lufthansa Boeing 727-100 in the airline's classic 1970s livery, featuring the iconic yellow cheatline and dark blue tail with orange Lufthansa crane logo. Made for collectors by collectors, this precision model captures the essence of Lufthansa's vintage fleet with exceptional attention to detail. The model features the registration D-ABEI and displays the 'Europa Jet 727' titles along the fuselage.

The Boeing 727-100 was a revolutionary tri-jet airliner that became one of the most successful commercial aircraft of its era. First introduced in 1964, the 727-100 featured three Pratt & Whitney JT8D engines, with one mounted on each side of the rear fuselage and one in the tail. With a length of 133 ft 2 in, wingspan of 108 ft, and height of 34 ft, this aircraft could carry 94 passengers in typical mixed class configuration or 114 in high-density seating. It had an empty weight of 80,602 lbs, cruised at 595 mph, and boasted a range of 2,000 miles. The 727 became Lufthansa's workhorse for European routes during the 1960s and 1970s, connecting major cities across the continent with reliability and efficiency.
