The Ilyushin IL-76 is a Soviet-designed strategic airlifter that first flew in 1971 and remains in widespread use today. This four-engine turbofan heavy transport aircraft was designed for delivering heavy machinery to remote, poorly-serviced areas. The IL-76 features a distinctive glass nose for the navigator, a rear cargo door and ramp for easy loading, and robust landing gear designed for unprepared runways. With a maximum payload of 50 tonnes and a range of over 4,000 km, the IL-76 has proven itself as one of the world's most capable military and civilian cargo aircraft. The real aircraft measures 46.59 m in length with a wingspan of 50.50 m and a height of 14.76 m, making this 1:500 scale model approximately 9.3 cm long with a wingspan of about 10.1 cm.
🇷🇺 About the Airline
East Line was a Russian airline established in the early 1990s, during the post-Soviet transition period. Based at Moscow Domodedovo Airport, the company played a key role in developing the airport into a major international hub. East Line operated a fleet of Soviet-built aircraft, including the Ilyushin Il-76, primarily for cargo and charter services. The airline’s distinctive green-and-white livery became a familiar sight during a dynamic era of Russian aviation, making its aircraft particularly interesting for collectors focused on post-Soviet airlines.
