Description
This Schabak 1:600 scale die-cast model represents a China Airlines Airbus A300-600 in the carrier's classic livery from the 1990s and early 2000s. The model features the distinctive white fuselage with red and blue cheatlines running along the windows, accompanied by traditional Chinese characters alongside the English 'CHINA AIRLINES' titles. The tail displays the airline's iconic plum blossom logo on a blue background with the Republic of China flag. Produced under article number 903/105, this model showcases Schabak's attention to detail in capturing the wide-body twin-engine design of the A300-600.
The Airbus A300-600 was the final production variant of the world's first twin-engine wide-body airliner. With its efficient twin-engine configuration and wide-body comfort, the A300-600 became a workhorse for many Asian carriers during the 1980s and 1990s. China Airlines operated the A300-600 extensively on regional routes throughout Asia, taking advantage of its excellent range and passenger capacity. The aircraft measures 54.08 meters in length with a wingspan of 44.84 meters, making it an imposing presence on airport ramps while still being economical to operate compared to larger four-engine aircraft of its era.
