Description
This Schabak 1:600 scale die-cast set features four classic American Airlines aircraft models from the polished bare-metal livery era. The collection includes representations of the Boeing 747, DC-10, Boeing 767, and Boeing 727, all finished in American's iconic silver fuselage with red, white, and blue cheatline and the classic AA logo on the tail. Made in Germany, these models showcase the precision molding and attention to detail that Schabak was known for during this period. The set comes in its original window box packaging, allowing collectors to view all four aircraft at once. This collection represents American Airlines' wide-body and narrow-body fleet during the airline's polished aluminum era, before the introduction of painted fuselages in the late 1990s. The Boeing 747 served as the flagship for long-haul international routes, while the DC-10 handled transcontinental and select international services. The Boeing 767 became a workhorse for domestic transcontinental flights and transatlantic routes, and the 727 was the backbone of domestic operations for decades. In 1:600 scale, each model measures approximately 8-12cm in length depending on the actual aircraft size, making them perfect for display in limited spaces.
