Crafted with precision metal construction and detailed markings, this limited edition collectible captures the elegant lines of one of aviation's most distinctive jetliners. The model includes accurate engine nacelle details, landing gear, and the signature Air France branding that made this aircraft instantly recognizable. The Convair CV-990 was an American narrow-body jet airliner produced between 1961 and 1963. Designed as a high-speed variant of the Convair 880, the CV-990 featured distinctive anti-shock bodies on the trailing edges of the wings and was one of the fastest commercial jets of its era, capable of cruising at Mach 0.89. Air France operated the CV-990 on medium to long-haul routes during the 1960s and early 1970s. With its four General Electric CJ805 turbojet engines, the aircraft offered speed advantages over contemporary designs, though only 37 examples were ever built. The CV-990 measured approximately 42.43 m (139 ft 2 in) in length with a wingspan of 36.58 m (120 ft 0 in) and a height of 12.04 m (39 ft 6 in), making this 1:500 scale model approximately 8.5 cm in length with an 7.3 cm wingspan.
