Description
This book begins by taking a look at the paint schemes used on the A-6 over those thirty-four years. The following two chapters look at the colours and markings evolution that occurred during the intruder’s service with all of the Navy’s operational A-6 squadrons.
We first cover the squadrons assigned to the Atlantic Fleet, followed by those assigned to the Pacific Fleet. Squadrons that were permanently forward based in Japan are covered in the Pacific Fleet chapter.
There were only two Naval Reserve squadrons that operated the intruder. VA-205, an east coast squadron based at NAS Atlanta, Georgia, will be covered in the Atlantic Fleet chapter. VA-304, a West Coast squadron based at NAS Alameda, California, will be covered in the Pacific Fleet chapter.
