FOREWORD
In order to carry out these functions properly, this Agency has written "laws" entitled Civil Air Regulations that must be adhered to by all pilots. Furthermore, in coordination with other Government offices, the FAA has established procedures that are the “standard” method of doing such things as (1) using the aircraft radio, (2) landing at an airport, (3) utilizing weather information, (4) doing aerial maneuvers, (5) using helpful navigation aids, and (6) flying through Security Defense Zones. The primary reason for these controlling regulations and standards is to promote safety --- the protection of life and property.
Reprinted in this book --CIVIL AIR REGULATIONS & FLIGHT STANDARDS FOR PILOTS-- are those regulations pertaining to aircraft operation and flight, plus those having to do with pilot certificates and ratings. The flight standards that are included provide a handy reference for all pilots, and the student pilot will also benefit from the basic instructional materials and Typical Written Examination that are included.
CIVIL AIR REGULATIONS & FLIGHT STANDARDS FOR PILOTS has become the "bible" for this type of material...attested by the fact that more than a million copies of previous editions have been sold!
