Description
The history and events of World War II have been extensively researched and recorded by many authors and in many publications during the past fifty years. In this context, the wartime organisation and operations of the German Air Force have, in general, been dealt with in great detail.
The often vital activities and contributions of some less-publicised operational groups within this force have so far been more or less ignored or 'forgotten' in these documentaries, however. The German Luftwaffe Air Reconnaissance Corps is one of these.
More than five decades after the end of hostilities, the authors of this book have finally and successfully lifted the curtain to shed some light onto German aerial reconnaissance before and during World War II. Their search efforts have resulted in this documentary book with its impressive mosaic of 'in depth' articles researched and written by David Wadman, together with an excellent collection of well-captioned reproductions of old photographs by John Bradley and Barry Ketley.
