Alan H. Stratford B.SC. ( Eng. ) - F.R.Ae.S. - F.R.S.A. qualified as an aeronautical engineer and economist, and flew as a pilot in R.A.F. Coastal Command. After over 20 years in the aircraft manufacturing and airline industries, he is now director of a firm of air transport consultants. He was formely Superintendent of the Performance & Analysis Department of the British European Airways Corporation ; Manager of the Transport & Economics Department of the former Armstrong Whitworth Aircraft Company ; and, more recently*, Aviation Research Manager of Hawker Siddeley International Ltd.
