As a public display of impressive aircraft, it has no equal in the fields of \u003cem\u003eTransport Aircraft\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003eResearch \u0026amp; Development Aircraft\u003c\/em\u003e, and \u003cem\u003eCaptured Enemy Machines\u003c\/em\u003e. Serving as an extension to the main Museum at Hendon, it richly portrays the history and traditions of the Royal Air Force, British Airways, and aviation in general. Its collection of early missiles and rocketry is the largest and most extensive in the world, and its inventory of \u003cem\u003eaero engines\u003c\/em\u003e is unique.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOn this large site, visitors can enjoy the wide variety of displays made available through the dedicated team of staff employed by the Museum, technicians from the Royal Air Force responsible for aircraft maintenance, and volunteers from the Aerospace Museum Society.
