The B and C models featured upgraded armament, including multiple .50-caliber machine guns, and minor structural refinements, but they still lacked armor protection and self-sealing fuel tanks. Primarily supplied to China under Lend-Lease, the P-43 B\/C saw limited combat but served an important role in pilot training and early air defense.
