The G-10 variant of the famous fighter was built from September 1944. It was powered by the DB 605 D engine and armed with two 13 mm machine guns and one 20 or 30 mm cannon firing through the propeller hub. G-10s also had a tall, aerodynamically-refined supercharger intake and a taller tail wheel strut to handle the increased thrust. It was fast and maneuverable, but at high speeds it became difficult to control.
