This enterprise later became the Isuzu Corporation. When the Sino-Japanese War began in the wake of the Marco Polo Bridge Incident in July of that year, the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) placed huge production orders for trucks and other vehicles. In order to meet production demands, a 13 million square meter factory was constructed in Kawasaki in just seven months, with construction completed on July 7, 1938. The first vehicle to roll off the Kawasaki line was an Isuzu TX40 truck on August 31 of that year. Production soon reached a rate of 1,000 units annually. The Isuzu TX40 truck had a cargo capacity of 2 tons, and was developed for use in urban and suburban road conditions. All components on the vehicle, including electrical systems and gauges, were domestically produced. In this sense the TX40 can be said to be the foundation of the modern Japanese automobile industry. TX stood for truck and 40 for engine, and the vehicle featured a water-cooled 4-cylinder engine with a 5,247mm wheelbase. By 1939, as war conditions became more stringent and the Second World War commenced in Europe, IJA truck orders increased greatly. During the war the TX40 was given the IJA designation of Type 97 Truck, and a fueling truck variant of the design was created. The truck was also used in civilian life, and this use of cargo and personnel vehicles was enabled in wartime use of the TX40 as well. After the war and after the dissolution of the Allied General Headquarters, the Japanese Government carried on extremely limited mass production of the TX40, carrying various materials and reaching 1,500 units annually. The war era produced TX40 had a square meter rear deck and a water-cooled 4-cylinder gasoline engine of 4,390cc, with production throughout the war era, and also continued in use after the Second World War and thus was the foundation for revolving Japan in the postwar period.

More to read about the KIT here, thanks to scalemates, a Belgian Scale modeling database

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/3015/9446/files/IMG_1901_2db53870-df54-49f9-94a6-791e13b4d086.JPG?v=1769074278
https://aviation.brussels/products/maquette-a-monter-isuzu-tx40-type-97-truck-hasegawa-n-36115-1-48-like-new-inside-unopened
