Entering service in the mid‑1970s, the C‑2 introduced distinctive aerodynamic enhancements, including small foreplanes (canards) and enlarged dog‑tooth wing leading edges, which significantly improved maneuverability and low‑speed handling. Powered by the General Electric J79 turbojet, the Kfir combined high speed with strong climb performance. It was equipped for air‑to‑air combat and ground‑attack missions, carrying cannon, bombs, rockets, and guided weapons on multiple hardpoints.
