The initial F.Mk I variant was followed by the FR.Mk I, equipped with ASH radar for reconnaissance. Though the NF.Mk II night-fighter version failed, modified FR.Mk Is served in the role. The Firefly excelled in maritime strike missions, notably over Norway and during attacks on the Tirpitz.
