Description
The F-4G Phantom II is a supersonic fighter aircraft utilized over the past 30 years in various combat and ground attack roles. The Phantom II was initially developed in response to a requirement stated by the United States Navy for an all-weather carrier-borne fighter aircraft. Its first flight took place on May 27, 1958, and it entered service with the US Navy in 1960. The F-4G model was later improved to create the 'G' model with the addition of electronic warfare equipment. The Air Force first utilized the aircraft in 1963. Over 5,000 Phantoms have been produced to date.
