It was manufactured from the early spring of 1943 to the end of WW2. The G-6 was developed from the F series and, compared to its predecessor, the fuselage was reinforced and the tail surfaces enlarged. The most noticeable change compared to the F series was the addition of blisters in front of the cockpit to accommodate the belt feed mechanism of the MG 131 machine guns. The G-6 entered service with JG 27 and JG 51 on the Eastern Front in the spring of 1943, and later with JG 1, JG 3, JG 5 and JG 11, which defended the Reich against Allied bomber formations. The Bf 109G-6 was also used by the Air Forces of Finland, Hungary, Romania, Croatia and Bulgaria. The Bf 109G-6 served on all fronts, from North Africa to Lapland, from Western Europe to the Balkans. Many aircraft survived the war and some of them are still flying today.

More to read about the KIT here, thanks to scalemates, a Belgian Scale modeling database

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/3015/9446/files/C2ED3334-EA29-4EF2-AF48-ABCCD85323AC.jpg?v=1756806703
https://aviation.brussels/products/maquette-a-monter-bf-109g-6-profipack-edition-eduard-n-8268-1-48-like-new-inside-unopened
