Introduced in 1944, it featured the high-performance DB 605D engine with a larger supercharger for improved speed and high-altitude performance. The G-10 had a streamlined engine cowling, refined aerodynamics, and was typically equipped with a 20mm MG 151\/20 cannon and two 13mm MG 131 machine guns. Despite being a retrofit of older airframes, it was among the fastest 109s, capable of speeds over 690 km\/h. The WNF-built versions had subtle differences in canopy and finish.
