Description
The first SBAC - organised show of the new millenium is alos its 51st event, continuing the long association with the historic Farnborough Airfield.
( … ) Farnborough enjoys a unique place in the history of international airshows and this year's Show - which is the biggest so far - maintains that proud tradition. ( ... ) For the public days of the Show, we are tracing the development of powered flight during the previous 100 years. In addition to a wide range of static exhibits in the Historic Aircraft Park, at least two aircraft from each decade of the 20th Century will open the flying display - a powerful expression of the rapid technological advances of aerospace designers and engineers.
A major theme for the SBAC at this year's Show is the way that aerospace in the U.K. is active in supporting the community through career oppotunities and through our care for the environment. ( ... ) The environment is another important initiative and one of aviation's greatest challenges. Although the impact of aviation is very small, emissions from aircraft will grow as the demand for air travel and transport increases. The " Environment " stand will clearly show the priority we attach to the challenge of managing the impact of our industry on the world environment. ( ... )
