The first edition of this book was published back in 2006, 40 years after the first birth of the independent Belgian Air Force. This document has become an important reference tool to all those who are searching for more information on the aircrews who succeeded in giving our Air Force its prominent place in the air operations of the free world.
Since 2006, some people sadly have left us, but young aircrews have successfully executed their missions in modern aerial warfare. Some of them only received their wings after the publication of the first edition of this document. One of the aims of the senior aviators' association "Vieilles Tiges of Belgium" is to help preserving the Belgian aviation heritage. Jules Jacob cooperate with this association to refresh and update the 2006 document and integrate recently available data in this new 2019 edition. You will find the results of this fruitful collaboration on the following pages.
