THE MARVELS OF AVIATION
Charles Cyril Turner ( April 30th, 1870 - December 7th, 1952 ) was born in Brighton ( Brighton and Hove, East Sussex, England ). He was listed as journalist and aviator. Most of his early journalism and books dealt with aeronautical issues. He then served during the First World War, and rose to the rank of Major. In later years, he specialized in crime adventures, often for adults. Charles C. Turner wrote 38 books about aviation, such as Aerial navigation of today : a popular account of the evolution of aeronautics ( 1910 ), The old flying days ( 1912 ), The struggle in the air, 1914 - 1918 ( 1919 ) and How the air force defends us ( 1940 ).
